About the Campaign

Run and Walk for the Arts, Athletes, and Health run by Wings Track Club

The Run and Walk for the Arts, Athletes, and Health 2022 is an enjoyable and easy way for those who love to support the youth of our community.  The day will include a 5k (3.1 miles) walk and run around the Lake, financial literacy clinics, cultural art and musical showcases, and a health fair.  Most event expenses are typically completely underwritten by our corporate sponsors, partners, or hosts. Therefore, the money raised by walking/running teams supports the non-profit organizations in our community who are focused on providing outlets and opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

About the Charity

Wings Track Club

The Wings Track Club (WTC) of Houston, Texas is one of the nation’s leading and most experienced youth track and field organizations in the state of Texas. The WTC is a 501.3(c) non-profit corporation founded in 1977 by Mr. Curtis Terrel out of the need to assist young persons interested in organized track and field competition on local, regional, and national levels. The WTC takes great honor in assisting each athlete with the opportunity to reach his or her full potential. WTC successfully accomplishes this by developing athletic speed, endurance, strength, encouraging high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting, and goal achievement. WTC seeks to develop well-rounded individuals who learn not only the ground rules of athletic training but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character. Winning begins in your mind not at the finish line.

Run & Walk for the Arts, Athletes, and Health

Run & Walk at Kitty Hollow Park offers one course option: a 5k family fun run or walk. This event raises funds for the Wings Track Club, who has identified community agencies to receive financial support.

Therefore, the money raised by walking/running teams supports the non-profit organizations in our community who are focused on providing outlets and opportunity for the next generation of leaders.

Think about it - you get to run or walk with friends and family, AND you help to further the mission of great non-profits and foundations, such as,  the Edison Arts Foundation, Fort Bend Expose Excellence Youth Program, Health Housing Foundation, Missouri City Parks Foundation, National Forum for Black Public Administrators, Wings Track Club, and Women in Jazz.  For a little extra fun there are prizes for the teams that raise the most funds for the event.

Every participant and team is encouraged to raise funds for their run or walk and, in doing so, include their family, friends, and other sponsors in the goodness of serving our community.

This is a tangible way you can help Wings Track Club helping support organizations that are changing the future of kids, helping residents gain affordable housing, delivering needed services to those in need, expanding training and development in the arts, providing community-based programs, and funding leadership development for public servants.

Choose from a 5k walk or 5k family fun run. The course is flat - a good one to set a personal record and great for beginners. If you haven't registered to run or walk the course, but would like to, visit wingstrackclub.com to sign up.

Thanks to our sponsors for supporting the Run and Walk for the Arts, Athletes, and Health 2022 so that donations go directly to providing excellent services to the arts, our youth, and community.
