Information about our Community Agencies and their Missions

On Saturday, December 29, 2022, the Wings Track Club (WTC) is hosting the Run and Walk for the Arts, Athletes, and Health. The day will include a 5k (3.1 miles) walk and run around the Lake, financial literacy clinics, cultural art and musical showcases, and a health fair. Your generous donation will support not only the WTC, but will allow the organization to provide grants to the following organizations:

The Edison Arts Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, supports the activities of the Robert & Bertha Edison Performing Arts Center.  The Foundation actively seeks funding for the Center’s productions and presentations as well as its physical plant and capital upkeep requirements.

The Expose Excellence Youth Program is a new program created to help at-risk youths succeed. The initiative launched on February 27th and was established to help non-violent juvenile offenders end the cycle of repeated incarcerations.  The youth program will offer job skills and career training, business and entrepreneur workshops, recreational activities, life skills training, liberal arts, driver’s education, academic support and mental health or substance abuse support.

The Healthy Housing Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization established to provide decent housing units at an affordable cost to low-income people, including families with children, and those previously unsheltered or homeless. The organization supports services with sustainable affordable housing for the homeless and low-income populations.  HHF also offers priority placement to individuals with chronic health conditions, including HIV/AIDS.

The Missouri City Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed in 2016. Missouri City Parks Foundation supports Missouri City parks by providing funding from corporate grants and individual gifts. To date, the Missouri City Parks Foundation has raised over $400,000 for Missouri City Parks.

The National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) is the nation’s premier professional and most progressive organization dedicated to the advancement of minority public leadership in local and state government with a national reputation for designing and implementing quality leadership initiatives of unparalleled successes. 

The NFBPA mission is to link leaders in public, private and academic institutions into a viable and effective network that nourishes them to better serve the communities where they work, live and play.  We partner with various organizations to make an impact in our community by volunteering our time, talents and treasures each year to local charities.

The local Houston chapter members are positively impacting the citizens of Houston and surrounding jurisdictions.  The chapter’s Emerging Leaders Program is focused on working with universities through the Greater Houston region, while also providing scholarships and training development for the next generation of leaders.

Women in Jazz Association, Inc. was founded by Pamela and Kevin Hart to provide Women in Jazz Concert Series and Vocal Performance Workshops for performance opportunities and experiences of professional and amateur jazz. The organization recently launched their Greater Houston presence and has plans for a week of activities in December, 2022 in Fort Bend County.  Women in Jazz Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
